Centre Opening and Service Arrangements during Rainstorm Warnings, Typhoon, and “Extreme Conditions”
(Applicable to the Core Centre and Satellite Centres)

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above/ “Extreme Conditions”
Services Suspended

If cancelled before 8:00 a.m.: the centres operate as usual.

If cancelled 3 hours or more before the normal closing time: the centre will resume service within 2 hours after the warning is lifted. Activity/service arrangements may be adjusted according to actual conditions.

If remain in force within 3 hours before the normal closing time: the centres will remain suspended for that day.

Rainstorm Warning Signals, Typhoon Signals and “Extreme Conditions” – Service Arrangements
1. When the Black Rainstorm Signal is in force
- If the warning is issued during centre opening hours, service users should stay at the centre or other safe place to take shelter.
2. Arrangements after the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal 8 or above, the announcement of “Extreme Conditions”, or the Black Rainstorm Signal is cancelled
- If cancelled before 8:00 a.m.: the centre operates as usual for the day.
- If cancelled 3 hours or more before the normal closing time: the centre will resume services within 2 hours after the warning is cancelled. Activity/ service arrangements may be adjusted according to actual conditions.
- If remain in force within 3 hours before the normal closing time: the centre will remain suspended for the that day.
3. When the Strong Wing Signal No. 3 or the Red Rainstorm Signal is in effect
- The services will be provided as usual. If specific activities or services need to be suspended or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, centre staff will issue official announcements and notify participants of the related arrangements separately.
4. Follow-up if an activity/service is cancelled
- If an activity or service is cancelled due to weather, centre staff will contact service users who have made reservations at a later time to re-arrange the service.
