Key Focus: Low Back Pain and Osteoarthritic Knee Pain

Value-added Services: Covers a variety of musculoskeletal problems, including neck pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist & hand pain, hip pain, and ankle & foot pain.

Eligibility:

  • Members of Yau Tsim Mong District Health Centre;

  • Patients suffering from specific pain problems; and

  • Have never received pain management copayment service at any District Health Centre (DHC) / DHC Express.

Nurse Clinic

Nurse Clinic The nurse clinic provides initial assessment of pain-related issues for members in need, basic self-management advice and counseling, and arranges for members to participate in relevant pain management patient empowerment programs. $80

Occupational Therapy Occupational therapists provide consultations based on patient needs, such as assessment of daily living abilities or personalized functional therapy activities, advice on assistive devices and home environment improvements to reduce fall risks and enhance self-management and daily living capabilities. $150
Chinese Medicine Chinese medicine practitioners provide treatments according to patient needs, such as acupuncture or acupressure therapy.
Physiotherapy Physiotherapists provide clinical consultations and appropriate interventions based on patient needs, such as pain relief, electrotherapy, manual therapy, etc. $380 $850
Dietetic Service Dietitians provide nutritional advice based on patient needs, including personalized meal plans or targeted dietary guidance. $380

*Elderly Health Care Vouchers (including rewards under the Pilot Reward Scheme) are only applicable to standard services; they are not applicable to value-added services.

*# Medical fee waivers do not apply to this scheme.

*Occupational therapy and dietetic counselling services require a referral from a doctor. Chinese medicine services may require a referral from a doctor depending on the individual’s situation.

*Service users can receive individual allied health and Chinese medicine services under a co-payment model. Eligible individuals will receive partial subsidies from the Government and pay a designated co-payment amount to access the services.

*Service users are entitled to a maximum of 8 sessions of subsidized services (including occupational therapy, Chinese medicine, physiotherapy, or dietetics), which must be completed within 10 weeks from the date of service registration.
